R12 billion loss
If the reports found online are all fabricated for political reasons then I am sorry for jumping to conclusions.
On the flipside, these organisations would have used your R12 billion (and another 1.5 billion in 2009) to better effect.

Web Research - what other say
In Africa, historically the fall of colonialism has usually seen the same results. Black Economic Empowerment in South Africa forms the cornerstone of the development of this coutry. Appoint a black person so that the wrongs of the past can be corrected. This economic empowerment should lead to the development of a black middle class in South Africa - WRONG. Some of the disturbing news in relation to the empowerment approach in the SAA. |

Khaya Ngqula, the SAA CEO dismissed in 2009 after years of mismanagement. Now, finally, an enquiry.

OK, so maybe I am judging someone I have never met a bit harshly. Fact is I feel this man has no respect for my life or me as a paying consumer for services he was overseeing. So, on closer inspection I have found some articles in relation to the demise and current collapse of the SAA. Financially. And yes, taxpayers are carrying this company so that the ANC government can keep appointing black people (because they are black - not competent) This cauldron of corruption and racism (appointing someone in a job because of their skin colour) will eventually lead to South Africa Airways becoming another monkey airline for Africa.

Business Day also ran an article on some of the charges relating to the CEO and his dismissal. Procurement irregularities??

Political Corruption
The spoils of war.
For decades nationalist freedom fighters have roamed the African plains fighting for freedom and justice against colonial oppression. When this freedom arrived and governments of majority vote ruled, very soon the dedicated nationalist leaders seemed to forget the people they represent and set about a programme of self enrichment.
South Africa and the ANC government didn't invent corruption. They have just perfected it.
The previous president of the ANC, and yes, South Africa left office in a cloud of mist. Even Mr Mbekis' brother had something to say.
